The day to day down here

Working on a rotating roster basis, you’ll find shifts are usually around 8-10 hours, so along with a stable full-time work structure you’ll have plenty of room to get out and do life – especially since that beaming Southland sun has been known to stick around as late as 10pm!

The Charge Anaesthetic Technician is responsible for providing clinical coordination, professional leadership and direction to the Anaesthetic Technician Team to maximise healthcare delivery, enhance patient outcomes, and promote clinical excellence and evidence-based professional practice.

The are 9 operating theatres. You will be working on specialties including orthopaedics, general surgery, plastics, gynaecology, urology, trauma, maxillofacial, dental, ophthalmology and ENT. Being a regional hospital, your patients will range in age from paediatric right through to geriatric.

This is a varied role where no two days will feel the same – whether it is providing on the floor clinical support to staff, training and development, leadership or quality improvement activities. The Charge Anaesthetic Technician works closely with anaesthetists and the perioperative team to provide the best health outcome for patients.

This is a permanent 1.0 FTE role working 40 hours per week. The position is worked as 9 hour shifts.
